The eye cannot look on his dazzling brightness.

眼睛無(wú)法注視他那耀眼的光亮。

He seeth all dark places, by night as well as by day.

他看到了所有黑暗的地方，無(wú)論在黑夜還是白天。

The light of his countenance is over all the world.

他臉上的光輝灑遍全世界。

This great Being is God. He made all things, but He is more excellent than all that He has made.

這個(gè)偉大的存在就是上帝。他創(chuàng)造了這一切，但他比創(chuàng)作出的一切都要杰出。

He is the Creator, they are the creatures.

他是造物主，他們是創(chuàng)造出的產(chǎn)物。

They may be beautiful, but He is Beauty. They may be strong, but He is Strength.

他們可能漂亮，但他才是美。他們可能強(qiáng)壯，但他是力量。

They may be perfect, but He is Perfection.

他們可能完美，但他是完滿。

There is a book, who runs may read,

有一本書(shū)，人人能讀，

hich heavenly truth imparts,

傳授神圣的真理，

And all the lore its scholars need

和學(xué)者需要的一切知識(shí)

Pure eyes and loving hearts.

純凈的眼神和愛(ài)心。

The works of God, above, below,

上帝的作品，上面，下面，

Within us, and around,

我們心里，我們周圍，

Are pages in that book, to show

那本書(shū)里是否寫了，

How God himself is found.

上帝是怎么發(fā)現(xiàn)自己。

The glorious sky, embracing all,

耀眼的天空，擁抱一切，

Is like the Father's love;

像上帝的愛(ài)；

Wherewith encompassed, great and small

用什么來(lái)包圍住，使大大小小

In peace and order move.

和平而有序地運(yùn)動(dòng)著。

Thou who hast given me eyes to see

你給了我看四周的眼睛，

And love this sight so fair,

我當(dāng)然地愛(ài)上了這景象，

Give me a heart to find out Thee

你賦予我心靈去找尋你，

And read Thee everywhere.
