Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

你曾經(jīng)聽(tīng)見(jiàn)有人說(shuō)，以眼還眼，以牙還牙；

but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil; but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

可是我要對(duì)你們說(shuō)，你們不要拒絕邪惡；有人打你的右臉，把另一邊也轉(zhuǎn)向他。

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

要是有人在法庭告你，拿走你的襯衣，把外套也給他。

And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

有人迫使你走一英里，你就和他走二英里。

Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

有求你的，就給他，有向你借貸的，不可推辭。

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy:

你們?cè)?jīng)聽(tīng)人說(shuō)，愛(ài)你的鄰居，恨你的敵人。

but I say unto you, Love your enemies; bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you;

可是我要對(duì)你們說(shuō)，愛(ài)你的敵人；祝福詛咒你的人，對(duì)恨你的人做善事，為迫害你的人禱告；

that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:

這樣你們才是天父的子民；

for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

因?yàn)樗屘?yáng)不但照耀善人，也照耀惡人，雨水不但降給義人，也降給不義的人。

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye?

因?yàn)槿绻阒粣?ài)那愛(ài)你的人，能有什么回報(bào)呢？

do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others?

稅吏不也一樣嗎？如果你只和兄弟打招呼，你比別人強(qiáng)在哪里呢？

do not even the publicans so? Be ye, therefore, perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

稅吏不也一樣嗎？因此，你們要做完美的人，因?yàn)樘焐系母甘峭昝赖摹?/p>

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

不要評(píng)判他人，就不會(huì)被他人評(píng)判。因?yàn)槟阍谠u(píng)判他人的同時(shí)，他人也同樣評(píng)判你；你衡量別人，別人也同樣衡量你。

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

你為什么只看見(jiàn)兄弟眼里的刺，卻不見(jiàn)自己眼里的梁木呢？
