Then there will be no war of households.

那時(shí)，將不會(huì)有家庭戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)，

The husband and the wife, drinking deep of peaceful joy, a calm bliss of temperate affections,

夫妻一起靜靜享受歲月姝好，

shall pass hand in hand through life, and lie down, not reluctantly, at its protracted close.

手牽手地走過(guò)溫馨一生，面對(duì)死亡無(wú)怨無(wú)悔，直到綿延溫情戛然而止。

To them the past will be no turmoil of mad dreams, nor the future an eternity of such moments as follow the delirium of a drunkard.

在他們眼里，不曾有瘋子癲狂夢(mèng)魘的體驗(yàn)，亦不會(huì)有酒鬼譫妄錯(cuò)亂后的悔意不迭。

Their dead faces shall express what their spirits were, and are to be, by a lingering smile of memory and hope.

那種記憶與希冀的微笑難以消逝，曾經(jīng)以及未來(lái)愛(ài)戀的精神契合將在他們的臉上自然浮現(xiàn)。

Drink, then, and be refreshed!

喝吧，接下來(lái)你會(huì)煥然一新！

The water is as pure and cold as when it slaked the thirst of the red hunter,

水，那么純凈透涼，何時(shí)才能平息殺戮者的嗜血瘋狂？

and flowed beneath the aged bough, though now this gem of the wilderness is treasured under these hot stones, where no shadow falls, but from the brick buildings.

泉水淙淙，從蒼勁古老的粗干虬枝下奔涌流出，盡管大漠荒煙里歷史珍寶仍深藏在熾熱巖漿中。那里天遠(yuǎn)地闊，沒(méi)有遮蔽，唯有現(xiàn)代文明的陰翳庇護(hù)，

But, still is this fountain the source of health, peace, and happiness,

那才是人類(lèi)康健和平乃至幸福的源泉。

and I behold, with certainty and joy, the approach of the period when the virtues of cold water, too little valued since our father's days, will be fully appreciated and recognized by all.

我確信它的到來(lái)，快樂(lè)地翹首以待。從耶穌誕生之日起，那曾經(jīng)過(guò)于低估、清澈之水的種種美德，將會(huì)獲得我們的充分評(píng)價(jià)與再度認(rèn)知。
