1. that表語(yǔ)從句

1）常接表語(yǔ)從句的聯(lián)系動(dòng)詞有be, look, remain, seem等。

It seems that/as if it is going to snow.

好像天要下雪。

The truth is that she was ill that day.

真相是那天她病了。

2）引導(dǎo)表語(yǔ)從句的that不可省略。

All I can tell you is that he gives me the book every time I pass it to him.

我所有能告訴你的是每次我把書本給他他都把書本給我。

3）表示事實(shí)、真理等實(shí)際內(nèi)容的表語(yǔ)從句其主語(yǔ)常是：fact, truth, advantage, odd, explanation, position, problem等。

The fact is that he didn't notice the car till too late.

事實(shí)是他直到為時(shí)已晚才注意到了那輛車。

The advantage of solar energy is that it will never run out.

太陽(yáng)能的優(yōu)點(diǎn)是它永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)耗盡。

4）表示某人的意見(jiàn)、信念等的實(shí)際內(nèi)容的表語(yǔ)從句，其主句主語(yǔ)常是：opinion, belief, view, feeling, explanation等。

My opinion is that we take the money into our hands.

我的意見(jiàn)是我們把這些錢掌握在手中。

5）名詞性wh-從句若作主語(yǔ)，總是用that從句作表語(yǔ)。

What surprised us is that he made so much progress in such a short time.

我們吃驚的是他在這么短的時(shí)間內(nèi)取得了這么大的進(jìn)步。

What impressed us deeply was that he could speak English so fluently.

使我們印象深刻的是他能說(shuō)如此流利的英語(yǔ)。

2. wh-表語(yǔ)從句

1）當(dāng)表示“是否”時(shí)，引導(dǎo)表語(yǔ)從句不能用if, 只能用whether。

The question remains whether we can win the support of the people.

問(wèn)題仍然是我們是否能贏得人民的支持。

2）常見(jiàn)的句型：that is why ...; this is because ...; the reason is that ...; it is because; the reason why ... is that ..., this is where ..., this is what ..., that is when ..., this is how ..., the problem is wh- ....

He was short of money. That was why he would come to see me.

他缺錢了，這就是為什么他來(lái)見(jiàn)我的原因。

The reason why he killed himself was that he wouldn't live any longer.

他自殺的原因是他不想活了。

He was late for school, and that was because he missed the early bus.

他上學(xué)遲到了，那是因?yàn)樗`了早班車。

This is where he was born.

這就是他的出生地。
