1. If only ... had done表示對(duì)過去情況的虛擬。

If only I hadn't lost my watch!

若是當(dāng)初我沒有把表給丟了該多好啊！

If only I had known the news earlier!

要是我早一點(diǎn)知道這個(gè)消息就好了。

2. If only ... did/were表示對(duì)現(xiàn)在情況的虛擬。

Oh, if only she knew how I missed her!

哦，若是她知道我多么想念她該多好??！

3. If only ... were/was +doing表示對(duì)現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行的情況的虛擬。

If only it were raining now!

要是現(xiàn)在在下雨該多好??！

4. If only ... were to/could/would/might/should +動(dòng)詞原型，表示對(duì)將來情況的虛擬。

If only it would rain tomorrow!

若是明天下一場(chǎng)雨該多好??！

5. ... as if ... had done表示對(duì)過去情況的虛擬。

The young man looks as if he had been ill for a long time.

那個(gè)年輕人看上去好像病了好長(zhǎng)時(shí)間似的。

6. ... as if ... did/were表示對(duì)現(xiàn)在情況的虛擬。

He talks to us as if the whole world belonged to him.

他對(duì)我們說起話來就好像整個(gè)世界都屬于他似的。

7. ... as if ... were doing表示對(duì)現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行的情況的虛擬。

Jack looks as if (as though) he were doing his homework. Actually, he is reading a cartoon book.

杰克看起來好像正在做家庭作業(yè)。事實(shí)上，他在看漫畫書。

8. “... as if ... were to/could/would/might/should +動(dòng)詞原形”表示對(duì)將來情況的虛擬。

It seems as if she were to start at once.

注意： as if引導(dǎo)的從句有時(shí)用陳述語氣，表示有根據(jù)的推測(cè)。

It looks as if it is going to rain.

天看上去好像要下雨。
