Huge crowds of protesters have packed the center of the Belarusian capital Minsk two weeks after a fraud election process handed President Alexander Lukasheko another term in office. They filled Independent Square before heading towards the presidential palace. The demonstration was peaceful but state television has shown president Lukasheko flying in a helicopter,wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a gun. In solidarity with those protesting in Minesk, thousands of people formed a human chain from the Lithuanian capital Vilnius to the Belarusian border.

The head of Iran's civil aviation organization since the black box recorders on the Ukrainian plane accidentally shot down by Iran in January showed it was hit by two missiles with passengers and pilots alive for 25 seconds before the second missile hit. The box was sent to France for decoding last month.
