The U.S. military said Sunday one of its drones inIraq has killed an Islamic State fighter it believeswas responsible for a missile attack last month thatkilled a U.S. Marine.

美國(guó)軍方星期天表示，在伊拉克實(shí)施的一次無(wú)人機(jī)空襲，打死了一名據(jù)信對(duì)上個(gè)月一次火箭襲擊事件負(fù)責(zé)的伊斯蘭國(guó)戰(zhàn)斗人員。那次襲擊事件造成一名美國(guó)海軍陸戰(zhàn)隊(duì)隊(duì)員喪生。

A spokesman for the U.S.-led operations against themilitants, Colonel Steve Warren, said the droneattack killed Jasim Khadijah, described as a formerIraqi officer and "a rocket expert," and five other Islamic State fighters.

Warren said Khadijah had controlled the Islamic State rocket attack that killed Staff SergeantLouis Cardin and wounded eight other Marines at an artillery position in the Makhmur area ofnorthern Iraq.

Cardin was the second U.S. combat death since the start of a U.S. campaign to fight IslamicState in Iraq in 2014.
