韓國提議下周二與朝鮮舉行高級別會談

South Korea on Tuesday proposed holding talks with North Korea next week to discuss the North’s participation in the Winter Olympics and other measures to improve inter-Korean ties.

周二，韓國提議下周與朝鮮舉行會談，討論朝鮮參加冬奧會和其他改善朝韓關(guān)系的措施。

The offer came a day after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un extended an olive branch to South Korea, expressing interest in sending North Korea’s delegation to the Winter Olympics to be held near Seoul next month.

一天前，朝鮮領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人金正恩(Kim Jong-un)向韓國伸出橄欖枝，表示有興趣派朝鮮代表團(tuán)參加下月在首爾附近舉行的冬奧會。

The North Korean dictator said in his closely watched New Year speech that he was “open to dialogue” with South Korea to ease military tension on the peninsula although he vowed to expand its nuclear programmes and urged Washington to admit it as a nuclear power.

這位朝鮮獨(dú)裁者在其受到密切關(guān)注的新年講話中表示，他對同韓國對話以緩和半島軍事緊張局勢“持開放態(tài)度”，盡管他發(fā)誓要擴(kuò)大核計劃并敦促美國承認(rèn)朝鮮是個核大國。

Seoul’s unification minister in charge of inter-Korean relations offered high-ranking government talks with North Korea next Tuesday at the border village of Panmunjom. It would be the first official meeting between the two Koreas since 2015.

韓國負(fù)責(zé)朝韓關(guān)系的統(tǒng)一部長官趙明均提出，希望下周二在位于邊界的板門店與朝鮮舉行高級別政府會談。這將是2015年以來的首次朝韓官方會晤。

“We expect to sit down with North Korea face-to-face and frankly discuss mutual interests aimed at better inter-Korean relations,” Mr Cho told a news briefing. “We look forward to Pyongyang’s positive reaction to this.”

“我們希望與朝鮮面對面坐下來，就改善韓朝關(guān)系等雙方共同關(guān)心的問題坦率地交換意見，”趙明均在新聞發(fā)布會上說，“我們期待平壤方面對此作出積極回應(yīng)。”

The proposal came after South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday ordered his staff to act swiftly on Mr Kim’s offer of dialogue. Mr Moon, who took power last May, proposed military talks with North Korea last year to ease tension but Pyongyang dismissed the offer.

此前，韓國總統(tǒng)文在寅(Moon Jae-in)周二命令手下迅速就金正恩的對話表態(tài)采取行動。去年5月上臺的文在寅在去年曾提出與朝鮮舉行軍事會談以緩和緊張局勢，但平壤方面斷然拒絕了該提議。

The South Korean won strengthened to a three-year high on Tuesday following Mr Kim’s comments on Monday. The currency was 0.4 per cent stronger against the dollar at Won1,061.47.

文在寅說：“改善韓朝關(guān)系和解決朝鮮核問題，這兩者不是相互獨(dú)立的。”他補(bǔ)充稱，在舉行任何會談前，韓國都會征詢盟友的意見。
