韓國不尋求就韓日慰安婦協(xié)議重新展開談判

South Korea will not seek to renegotiate a contentious deal with Japan over Tokyo’s wartime use of sex slaves, the foreign ministry in Seoul said on Tuesday.

韓國外交部周二表示，韓國將不會尋求就韓日在日本戰(zhàn)時使用慰安婦問題上達(dá)成的一項有爭議協(xié)議與日本重新進(jìn)行談判。

The decision follows months of speculation that South Korea might scrap the 2015 pact under which the nations agreed to “finally and irreversibly” end a dispute over Japan’s use of Korean “comfort women” in military brothels during the second world war.

此前數(shù)月，人們一直在猜測韓國可能會撕毀韓日雙方2015年達(dá)成的協(xié)議。根據(jù)該協(xié)議，兩國同意“最終且不可逆轉(zhuǎn)地”結(jié)束圍繞二戰(zhàn)期間日本在軍中妓院中使用韓國“慰安婦”產(chǎn)生的爭端。

Under the agreement, Japan apologised and paid ¥1bn ($9m) to a foundation in support of the women.

根據(jù)該協(xié)議，日本進(jìn)行了道歉并向一個援助韓國慰安婦的基金會支付了10億日元(合900萬美元)。

However, following the inauguration of President Moon Jae-in last year, authorities in Seoul began again reviewing the deal and last week declared it did not sufficiently account for the views and opinions of the surviving victims.

但在文在寅(Moon Jae-in)去年就任韓國總統(tǒng)之后，首爾當(dāng)局開始重新審議這項協(xié)議，并在上周宣稱該協(xié)議未充分考慮依然健在的受害者的看法和意見。

On Tuesday, Kang Kyung-wha, South Korea’s foreign minister, said Seoul would set aside its own money to help victims. But she stopped short of seeking to renegotiate the deal.

周二，韓國外長康京和(Kang Kyung-wha，文首圖)表示，首爾方面將自己掏腰包幫助受害者。但她沒有尋求就該協(xié)議重新進(jìn)行談判。

The move will come as a relief to Japan, which earlier in the day asked South Korea to stick to the pact.

此舉將讓日本松一口氣。當(dāng)天早些時候，日本曾要求韓國遵守該協(xié)議。

“We aren’t thinking of moving even a millimetre on the deal,” said Yoshihide Suga, Japan’s chief cabinet secretary.

“我們不考慮對該協(xié)議做一絲一毫的改動，”日本內(nèi)閣官房長官菅義偉(Yoshihide Suga)表示。
