譯文：現(xiàn)在你把下棋作為技藝，是小技藝；不專心致志，就學(xué)不到手。弈秋是全國的下棋高手，有人讓他教兩個(gè)人下棋，其中一個(gè)人專心致志，只聽弈秋的話；另一個(gè)人雖然也在聽弈秋的教導(dǎo)，但是心里卻想著天上有天鵝飛過，想要拉弓搭箭把它射下來。雖然他倆在一起學(xué)習(xí)，但后一個(gè)人不如前一個(gè)人學(xué)得好。難道是因?yàn)樗闹橇Σ蝗鐒e人好嗎?有人說:“不是這樣的?！?br />

弈之為數(shù)，小數(shù)也。不專心致志，則不得也。
弈秋，通國之善弈者也。
使弈秋誨二人弈。
其一人，專心致志，惟弈秋之為聽。
一人，雖聽之，一心以為有鴻鵠將至，思援弓繳而射之。

Learning to Play Draughts
Playing draughts is a minor art; yet even so, you must give your whole attention to it to learn it. Qiu, the best draughts-player in the country, had two pupils. One of them concentrated entirely on what Qiu told them, while the other, though he also listened to his master, was thinking all the time of the wild geese in the sky, and itching to get his bow and arrows to shoot them. So he did not learn as well as the other pupil. It was not because he was less intelligent.
