Japan Promotes Cultural Exchanges with Africa
Tokyo: A news report says Japan plans to offer money to help African countries protect their cultural resources. The Kyodo news agency says Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori will make the announcement【宣布】 during his visit next week. And he is expected(1) to offer joint cultural exchange. Mr. Mori leaves Sunday for South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria. He is the first current head of government in Japan to visit Southern Africa. Mr. Mori is also expected to propose(2) that the next International Conference on African Development take place in Japan this year. It was last held in Tokyo in 1998.
