Lesson 2. 純純的愛
bills：賬單
Women really care if their man can pay the bills and take care of their lives.
女人很在意他們的男人是否會幫他們付賬單，并且照顧他們的生活。
Bill 是人名，中文翻成比爾，小寫就成了賬單。因為賬單永遠是一張接一張來，所以bill經(jīng)常是復(fù)數(shù)，比如說credit card bills（信用卡賬單）、phone bills（電話賬單）、gas bills（煤氣費）等等。
blonde 金色，blondy/blondie金發(fā)女孩
She dyed her hair blonde to look more American.
為了看起來更像美國人，她把頭發(fā)染成金色。
Look at that blondie at 6 o’clock,she’s fine!!
看一下六點鐘方向那個金發(fā)女孩，她很正！
hots 哈，仰慕，喜歡
You can tell by the way she is talking to him that she has the hots for him.
從她和他說話的樣子，你可以看出她很“哈”他。
hot本來是形容詞，最常用來表示很熟，引申成形容女孩很辣。這里是把它當(dāng)成名詞使用，是一種非正式的說法，hots 變成仰慕、喜歡，就是很“哈”別人的意思。Hots和中文的“哈”發(fā)音超像，這樣記就對了！
crush 壓碎、心動
He crushed my heart when he told me he had fell in love with another girl.
當(dāng)他告訴我他愛上另一個女孩時，我的心碎了。
I had a crush on her the very first time I laid my eyes on her.
第一次看見她，我就對她怦然心動。
crush是壓碎、碾碎的意思，通常作動詞用。不過英文的俚語形容對一個人初見時就心動也用crush，這里就當(dāng)名詞用。特別用來表示初見面就很喜歡的意思。
jock 運動員、喜歡
He was the biggest jock in high school since he played all kinds of sports.
從他開始玩各種運動起，他就是高中里最重要的運動員。
Dude, this girl is jocking me,she keeps on looking at me from across the room.
同學(xué)，那個女孩很喜歡我，她一直在房間另一頭看著我。
jock 是賽馬的騎師，也泛指運動員。非正式的表示喜歡、迷戀的樣子，一定要把jock當(dāng)動詞使用，不能說She has jocks for me,一定要說She is jocking me.當(dāng)然，這不能用在正式的文章里！
go for (girl/it)追求、拼一下、放手一搏
I bet she likes you,why don’t you go for her?
我想她喜歡你，你干嘛不追她？
Nowdays,when there is a job opening you have to go for it.
現(xiàn)在只要有工作的缺，你就必須要到手。
sketchy/shady 有心機的、陰暗的
I don’t like his personality because he’s always so sketchy with things.
我不喜歡他的個性。他對事情總是很有心機。
The politician committed some shady acts by receiving bribes.
這個警察受賄，做一些無恥的勾當(dāng)。
dork 不入流的家伙、豬頭
I can’t believe she’s going out with that dork.
我不敢相信她和那個不入流的家伙約會。
coyote ugly極丑
Have you seen the new race car?It’s coyote ugly!!
你看過那輛新跑車嗎？丑得不象話！
coyote 是土狼的意思，通常我們說東西或人很丑，可以直接說ugly，但是要加強那種丑的程度無以倫比，就把很丑的動物——土狼放在ugly 前面，來形容人或物超級夠丑。
back out 退出、拉出
Hey!Back your car out of the garage.
嗨！把你的車開出倉庫。
I backed out of the plan because I didn’t want to go steal money with them.
我要退出這個計劃，因為我不想和他們一起偷錢。
wasted 身體不適、喝酒
After 20 shots of Vodka,I was totally wasted.
在喝了20杯伏特加后，我完全醉了。
