In this episode, if you hadn’t been exposed to Game of Thrones from the books, you were young and naive and had no idea what you were in for. In your Season 1 world Ned Stark was the main character and the Stark family was going to set things right in King’s Landing. Yes, Ned was a captive of the Lannister’s but we were just sure he was going to escape, or be pardoned. We were wrong…so wrong…so very very wrong. Ned Stark was executed in the most shocking episode in season 1, and left many fans unsure as to what was next.

Stannis invades King’s Landing and only the brilliant mind of Tyrion Lannister can save the city. While Cersei is drinking and King Joffrey is posturing, only Tyrion and Bronn are actually planning the defense of Kings Landing. One of the largest battle scenes in the show so far, and in one iconic sequence they use wildfire to decimate Stannis’ fleet and prevent the bulk of his troops from assaulting the walls. We immediately go from cheering for Tyrion as he gives the best pre-battle speech ever, to crying as he is cut down on the battlefield.

In an episode of television that will live in infamy for all time, audiences were treated to one of the biggest shocks of all time. “The Lannisters send their regards” is the phrase heard round the world as you see even more Starks cut down, and the possibility for vengeance almost completely removed. Never has a television show removed the majority of its main characters in a more spectacular way.

In this episode we are treated to one of the largest battle scenes ever attempted by the HBO production team and possibly one of the largest and best produced battle scenes on television of all time. The wildlings attack the wall in spectacular fashion and Jon Snow starts to really shine as a battle commander. Just as in previous episode 9’s however, our joy turns to ashes in our mouth as the beloved red-headed wildling Ygritte is felled by an arrow and dies in Jon Snow’s arms.

在第四季的最終集，HBO制作團(tuán)隊(duì)試圖為觀眾帶來(lái)史詩(shī)級(jí)的戰(zhàn)斗場(chǎng)面，也許是開播以來(lái)最壯烈的戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)場(chǎng)面。長(zhǎng)城外的野人大軍大舉進(jìn)攻長(zhǎng)城，囧雪因此在這場(chǎng)大戰(zhàn)中初露頭角。在該集的預(yù)告片中，紅發(fā)女野人耶哥蕊特中箭身亡，死在了囧雪懷里。

I don’t know what is in store for us tonight in Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 9 “The Dance of Dragons” but if the previous episodes are any indication, you can bet that Ramsay will probably be right again…
