1. killed in action: 在戰(zhàn)事中陣亡。

2. posthumously: 于死后。

3. manifestation: 表現(xiàn)；表現(xiàn)形式。例如：Fever is one manifestation of a cold.（發(fā)燒是受涼的一種表現(xiàn)。）

4. deviate from: 脫離（正軌），偏離。例如：deviate from the principle（違背原則）。

5. continuum: 連續(xù)體。

6. sanction: 認可；批準。請看例子：The church would not sanction his second marriage.（教會不會認可他的第二次婚姻。）

7. immaterial: 不重要的，無關(guān)緊要的。看一下例子：It is immaterial to me whether he stays or leaves.（他的去留對我無所謂。）

8. terminate: 使停止，使結(jié)束；使終止。
