The color of red in Chinese culture usually means good luck and joy. Red is found everywhere during Chinese Spring Festival and other holidays and family gatherings. So as the red packet, which is given every Spring Festival, conveys, red is a symbol of happiness and good luck in the coming year. Red is often seen in Chinese weddings, because the newly married couple in wedding tend to be very happy and in red will help them chase out the bad luck on their wedding day. But it is not wise to wear red clothes when attending a funeral.
