Jessica在北京學(xué)漢語(yǔ)，她的中國(guó)朋友要是遇到了不知道用美語(yǔ)怎么說(shuō)的詞，就會(huì)來(lái)請(qǐng)教她。今天是方方要問(wèn)的：修身。

Jessica: Fangfang, You look different! Did you lose weight?

FF: 才沒(méi)有呢! 是這件衣服好，穿上顯瘦，特修身!

Jessica: 修身養(yǎng)性？也能讓人顯瘦？

FF: 不是那個(gè)修身，是修飾身材. The clothes make me look slim.

Jessica: I see. You can say the clothes are figure flattering. "flattering" is spelled f-l-a-t-t-e-r-i-n-g.

FF: figure是身材，flatter是恭維，兩個(gè)詞放在一起，figure flattering，身材顯得更好，也就是修身!

Jessica: Right! For example, A lot of women find black to be a figure flattering color.

FF: 對(duì)! 黑色特修身。不過(guò)，要想嘗試各種風(fēng)格的打扮，不能光靠衣服，還得身材好。瘦才是王道!

Jessica: So...Are you going on a diet?

FF: Go on a diet? 節(jié)食？沒(méi)錯(cuò)! 雖然我已經(jīng)不是頭一次減肥，但這次不同，我要來(lái)個(gè)地獄式的節(jié)食減肥!

Jessica: 地獄？Hell? Oh, You must be referring to a crash diet, where people stop eating, exercise like crazy and do extreme things to lose weight quickly.

FF: 對(duì)! 不吃，狂運(yùn)動(dòng)，迅速瘦身! 原來(lái)地獄式節(jié)食就是a crash diet. c-r-a-s-h, crash. 我拼得對(duì)么？

Jessica: Correct. But Fangfang, it's a painful process, isn't it?

FF: 可不是么! 我這幾天頭暈眼花，就是因?yàn)槌蕴佟essica, 待會(huì)兒咱們?nèi)コ钥绝啺?

Jessica: 你不減肥啦？

FF: 就一頓嘛，放縱一下!

Jessica: Be careful! This is binge eating! Binge is spelled b-i-n-g-e. Binge eating is when you eat a lot more food in one meal than you usually do.

FF: 我明白了，binge eating就是暴飲暴食。

Jessica: 對(duì)! I hope you can get slimmer in a healthy way. But now, let's see what you've learned today!

FF: 第一，修飾身材叫 figure flattering；

第二，節(jié)食叫g(shù)o on a diet，地獄式節(jié)食是a crash diet；

第三，暴飲暴食是binge eating。
