Catherine: Have you had a chance to look over the contract?

Jerry: Yes, it looks great. The only problem we might have is with the termination clause.
是的,很好.唯一有問題的是終止合同的那一條.
Catherine: How’s that?
怎么了?
Jerry: Well, it says that either party can terminate, given just 60 days’ notice.
合同上說任何一方終止合同,只要提前60天通知對(duì)方即可.
Catherine: Yes. That gives you a way out if you have second thoughts or if some problem comes up.
是的, 如果你們改變想法或有問題發(fā)生,這一條給了你們退路.
Jerry: I appreciate that. But what protection do we have if you decided to terminate early? We’ll be left with empty shelves right in the middle of the Christmas season!
謝謝.但是如果你們決定提前終止合同,我們有什么保障呢?那樣圣誕節(jié)購(gòu)物節(jié)間我們就沒貨了.
Catherine: We can easily change that, if that’s what is worrying you. As long as you are complying with the terms of the contract, we wouldn’t have any reason to terminate.

Jerry: Thanks! That would be reassuring to us.
