All hail Bob Odenkirk, the Duke of Hollywood.

The actor, 61, appears in Tuesday's new episode of PBS' genealogy series Finding Your Roots, where he's surprised to learn that he and King Charles are eleventh cousins. Host Henry Louis Gates Jr. traces Odenkirk's roots back five generations to Friedrich Carl Steinholz, the actor's fifth great grandfather born in Plön, Germany in 1755. Steinholz's mother conceived him out of wedlock with the Duke of Plön, who was related to the royal families of Europe due to intermarriage.

Odenkirk offers the following analysis before the surprise revelation: "I’m an American. I’m not a monarchist. I don’t believe in that. You know, I feel like it’s a little twisted. I understand why society built itself around monarchs and leaders, and they passed them down through generations. I understand that goes through every society, every civilization. But I think that we’ve gotten to a better place with democracy and we should keep going down that road."

Gates also guides comic and actress Iliza Shlesinger through her family roots in the upcoming episode. Julia Roberts, Maya Rudolph, Jeff Goldblum, Anjelica Huston, and Michael Strahan are among the famous faces who've appeared on the show, the latter of whom also learned that he had some royal DNA. Terry Crews and Billy Crudup discovered they were relatives as a result of the show, as did Carol Burnett and Bill Hader and Tracy Morgan and Nas.
