Kevin Hart is setting the record straight about his height.
On Sunday, the comedian confirmed he's 5 foot 5 during a 60 Minutes interview in which Anderson Cooper asked Hart to clarify his exact height after GQ said he was 5 feet 5 inches tall, the Los Angeles Times said he was 5 feet 4, and "some other place" said he was 5 feet 2.
"Well, that place is bulls—-," Hart cracked about the last source, knowing very well that it was his 2023 comedy special Reality Check. "GQ finally got it right," he continued. "Five foot 5, like with a shoe on, like a sneaker, Now, if I put a boot on, I can get to 5 [foot] 5 1/2."
The jokes about Hart's stature led to a deeper discussion about his comedic approach. The Fatherhood star, confident in his abilities, shared that he's willing to make jokes about himself on stage. He understands that the audience is on his side, which gives him the freedom to be self-deprecating.
"You're not laughing necessarily at me as if I am a joke. You're laughing at the experience," Hart, 44, told Cooper. "I'm giving you an experience through a story that is relatable, and more importantly, I am saying things that other people just don't have the heart to say."

The interview also touched on the 2018 controversy surrounding Kevin Hart hosting the 2019 Oscars. The comedian landed the gig and then later was forced to step down when backlash began over old homophobic jokes. Hart refused to apologize at the time, but revealed to Cooper that fellow comedian Wanda Sykes helped him see the situation from a different perspective.
"Wanda Sykes said, 'There’s people that are being hurt today because of comments like the ones that you made then, and there’s people that were saying it’s okay to make those comments today based off of what you did,'" Hart explained.
"It was presented to me in a way where I couldn’t ignore that… In those moments of despair, great understanding and education can come out of it if you’re given the opportunity," he added.
