奇聞怪事

The doctor was new in town,and took over another doctor's patients.One of the new patients was a seventy-four-year old woman.He went to see her.She had been bedridden for forty years.

鎮(zhèn)上新來(lái)的醫(yī)生接管了另一名醫(yī)生的病人。其中一位新病人是一位74歲的老婦人。他去看她。她臥病不起應(yīng)經(jīng)40年了。

After he examined her, he was very suprised.The woman wasn't sick at all! The woman had influenza when she was thirty-four years old.Her doctor had ordered her to go to bed and stay there until he saw her again.

在他給她檢查之后，他覺(jué)得很驚訝。婦人根本沒(méi)生病。婦人在34歲的時(shí)候得了流感。她的醫(yī)生囑咐她躺在床上知道他再來(lái)看她。

The woman recovered in a few days,but stayed in bed.She waited for the doctor.He never returned.Several weeks passed and the woman found out that she enjoyed life in bed.People waited on her hand and foot, So she refused to get up.

At first,her mother took care of her.When her mother died, her brother-in-law moved in and nursed her.For forty years,the woman spent all her time in bed.

The new doctor called a specialist.The specialist examined the woman,and reported the case to the people around.

稱職的心臟病專家

Doctor Shade was a heart specialist.He was an excellent doctor and his examinations were always complete.He listened to the patient's heart,took his blood pressure and temperature,gave him an X-ray and examined his eyes and ears.

謝德醫(yī)生是一位心臟病專家。他是一名優(yōu)秀的醫(yī)生，他的檢查總是很完備。他聽(tīng)病人的心跳，量血壓和體溫，照X光，檢查眼睛、耳朵。

The doctor finally completed his examination and spoke to his patient.He told him that heart trouble was never a minor illness,but that wasn't a serious heart attack.He advised losing some weight,getting plenty of sleep and eating good meals.Somking and drinking would be harmful ,of course.Dr.Shade said it would be necessary to be careful for a while,but he was confident that there was nothing to worry about.

醫(yī)生最終完成了檢查，跟他的病人說(shuō)。他告訴病人心臟病從來(lái)不是一種小病，但是也不是嚴(yán)重的心臟病發(fā)作。他建議病人減肥，保持睡眠充足，吃好飯。抽煙喝酒當(dāng)然會(huì)有害。謝德醫(yī)生說(shuō)小心一段時(shí)間是有必要的，但是他有信心沒(méi)什么好擔(dān)心的。
