I could feel it was too early again when I woke, and I knew I was getting the schedule of mydays and nights slowly reversed.
當(dāng)我醒來的時(shí)候，我發(fā)覺時(shí)間還太早。我知道自己正在慢慢地顛倒著晝夜的作息時(shí)間。
I lay in my bed and listened to the quiet voices of Alice and Jasper in the other room. That theywere loud enough for me to hear at all was strange.
我躺在床上，聽著愛麗絲和賈斯帕在另一間屋子里安靜的說話聲。他們的說話聲居然大到我能聽見的程度，這點(diǎn)很奇怪。
I rolled till my feet touched the floor and then staggered to the living room.
我翻滾著身子，直到自己的腳落到地板上，然后步履蹣跚地走到起居室里。
The clock on the TV said it was just after two in the morning. Alice and Jasper were sittingtogether on the sofa, Alice sketching again while Jasper looked over her shoulder.
電視機(jī)上的時(shí)鐘顯示著現(xiàn)在是凌晨?jī)牲c(diǎn)。愛麗絲和賈斯帕一起坐在沙發(fā)上，愛麗絲又開始畫速寫了，而賈斯帕正越過她的肩膀看著。
They didn't look up when I entered, too engrossed in Alice's work.
當(dāng)我進(jìn)屋的時(shí)候，他們沒有抬頭，只是全神貫注地看著愛麗絲的作品。
I crept to Jasper's side to peek.
我挪動(dòng)步子，走到賈斯帕身旁窺視著。
"Did she see something more?" I asked him quietly.
“她又看見了別的東西?”我安靜地問他。
"Yes. Something's brought him back to the room with the VCR, but it's light now."
“是的。出于某種原因，他帶著那盤錄像帶回到了那個(gè)房間，但那個(gè)房間現(xiàn)在亮起來了。”
I watched as Alice drew a square room with dark beams across its low ceiling. The walls werepaneled in wood, a little too dark, out of date.
我看著愛麗絲畫出一個(gè)方形的房間，暗色的橫梁在低矮的天花板上交錯(cuò)著。墻上嵌著木板，嵌板的顏色有點(diǎn)發(fā)黑，樣式很過時(shí)了。
The floor had a dark carpet with a pattern in it. There was a large window against the southwall, and an opening through the west wall led to the living room.

"The phone goes there," I whispered, pointing.

Two pairs of eternal eyes stared at me.

"That's my mother's house."
