Let's find a happy medium.

我們找一個(gè)折中的方法吧。

happy medium中的medium在英語(yǔ)里有“中間、中道”的意思，所以這個(gè)習(xí)語(yǔ)的字面意思就是：“幸福中道”，這剛好就是孔子所提倡的中庸之道，但是這個(gè)習(xí)語(yǔ)也可表示：“折中的辦法”。因此，當(dāng)美國(guó)人說(shuō)"Let's find a happy medium."時(shí)，他/她要表達(dá)的意思就是:"Let us both compromise to solve this problem."、"Let's think out an eclectic method."。

Shirley: I can't agree with you. Your idea is far from mature.
