第二十章狀語 狀語從句(1)

　　1 .狀語從句很多，最常見的是時間狀語從句，它們可由when, whenever, while, before, after, until, till, Since, now that, once, as soon as 等連詞引起：

　　Let's wait until ( till ) the rain stop .

　　等雨停了再說。

　　She comes to talk to me whenever she feels lonely.

　　每當(dāng)她感到寂寞時就來和我聊人。

　　As I talked, I gained some confidence.

　　我一面談著一面增強了信心。

　　Now that I have come back, I want to help you both.

　　現(xiàn)在既然我回來了，我要幫助你們兩人。

　　Once the train is moving, there is no way to stop it.

　　一旦火車開動了就沒法讓它停下來。

　　2 .由every time, the moment 等詞引起的從句也可以用追狀語：

　　Every time I catch a cold, I have pain in my back.

　　每回傷風(fēng)我的背就疼。

　　Stormy applause broke forth the moment she appeared on the stage.

　　她一在臺上出現(xiàn)就響起暴風(fēng)雨般的掌聲。

　　He had impressed me that way the first time I met him.

　　我第一次碰到他時，他就給我這個印象。

　　Be sure to call on us next time you come to town.

　　下次進城你一定來找我們。

　　3. instantly, immediately, directly 等詞也可引起時間狀語從句：

　　Them achine will shart instantly you press the button.

　　你一按電鈕機器就會開動。

　　I'11 give you an answer imediately I've finished reading your report.

　　我看完你的報告立即給你答復(fù)。

　　Directly he uttered these words there was a dead silence.

　　他一說出這些話，大家立刻沉默下來。
