Weight training while you're dieting helps build a strong, lean body. A study compared a group off overweight women who went on a diet without exercising with another group who worked out with weights while they dieted. All of the women lost weight, but those who lifted weights had leaner bodies than those who didn’t. Weight training adds to a lean body both by using more fat for energy and by building muscle strength.
