occasional,uncommon,scare,rare
occasional: 指偶然、不時或間或發(fā)生的事,側重無規(guī)律可循。
uncommon: 指一般不發(fā)生或很少發(fā)生的事情,故顯得獨特、異常與例外。
scare: 指暫時不易發(fā)現、不存在或數量不足,供不應求的東西。

【詞語用法】
1.hear同see,watch,feel,notice等感觀動詞一樣,其賓語后所接的不定式不含to。
I often hear her sing.

但是,hear用于被動語態(tài)時,不定式中要含to。
She is often heard to sing.
2.hear的賓語后既可接不定式,也可接動名詞,但是在表示“故意聽……”時,只能用不定式。
I often hear her sing.
I often hear her singing.
3.hear him表示“聽見他”,不管是聽到講話,唱歌,讀書等,均可;
4.hear of sb表示“聽說過某人”,不一定用耳朵去聽,在報道上看到的也可以。
I have heard of the hero through the press.
我曾在報刊上讀到過這個英雄。
5.hear from可表示“收到……寄來的信”,后可接表示人或地方的詞。
I hear from him every week.
I have not heard from England for several months.
要注意的是,在回信時,開首提及收到對方的信,習慣上用receive your letter來代替hear from you。
hear from ... that/how等不一定表示“收到……的信”,可以是“聽說”等其他含義。

6.hear的賓語后有時可接過去分詞。

7.hear同listen的比較:hear一般指聽到一些東西進入到我們的耳朵里,而listen一般用于去注意一些聲響,這些聲響是進行中的。
