　　一般情況下，我們可以直接使用拼音來表達(dá)，后面對其進(jìn)行簡單的解釋說明。

　　其實在英語中，dog days專門來形容北半球7、8月這段最熱的天氣。

　　根據(jù)韋氏詞典，dog days即指7月初到9月初，北半球天氣悶熱潮濕的這段時間：

　　the period between early July and early September when the hot sultry weather of summer usually occurs in the northern hemisphere

　　THE “DOG DAYS,” I always thought, were those summer days so devastatingly hot that even dogs would lie around on the asphalt, panting.

　　古希臘人認(rèn)為大犬座(Canis Major)是一只狗在追逐兔子(也就是天兔座，Lepus)。而天狼星是狗的鼻子，因此稱它為"狗星"(dog star)。
