I Want to Get out of Here

I was reviewing my client’s case with him in prison when it was announced that visitors had 15 minutes to leave or be locked in for the three-hour prisoner head count. I bade my client farewell and left. But somehow, I managed to get lost my way out. Desperate for directions to exit, I noticed some men wearing orange jumpsuits. I called out to one of them, a no-neck, barrel-chested man. “Sir,” I said, “I want to get out of here.” He shrugged. “So do I.”

【詞匯講解】

1.client委托人。也可以指“顧客”，“當(dāng)事人”：She can't come to the telephone; she's serving a client.她不能來接電話, 她正在接待一位顧客。

2.bid告別。也有“企圖”的意思：He made a bid for freedom by climbing over the wall.他企圖翻越這面高墻以獲得自由。“出價”：How much do you bid?你出多少錢?

3.farewell“告別, 歡送”：He made his farewell to his family.他向他的家人告別。
