豬年就要來了，給大家拜個早年!新年說吉祥話是中國人歡度佳節(jié)的傳統(tǒng)，但你知道怎么用英語說這些喜氣洋洋的祝福嗎?

01.New year's greetings

新年祝福，吉祥話，英語中可以說：

New year's wishes/greetings/lucky sayings

在北美，很多外國人都會說“Gung Hay Fat Choy”(恭喜發(fā)財)，甚至把它誤以為是新年快樂的意思。

恭喜發(fā)財 "Wishing you wealth and prosperity!"

Prosperity成功、繁榮，動詞為prosper，它不僅能指財富上的成功，也可以指個人能力的成長。

“恭喜發(fā)財”后面通常還會接著一句：

紅包拿來 "give me some lucky money NOW."

紅包也可以從事實層面譯為Red envelope，但lucky money更容易讓外國人明白它的含義。

在祝福時很常用這個句式"May you…"：

萬事如意 "May all your wishes and dreams come true."

新年吉祥 "May the New Year bring you luck and peace."

02.Wealth related ones

和財富有關(guān)的吉祥話：

財源廣進(jìn) "May wealth flow in."

和氣生財 "May harmony bring wealth."

財源滾滾 "May wealth come pouring in."

Pour有傾瀉，驟雨的意思，形容錢財源源不斷地涌來。

03.General ones

常說的吉祥話：

大吉大利"May you have great luck and great profit."

這里的“大”用great表示。

年年有余"May you have abundance every year."

“余”是盈余，富余的意思，譯為“abundance”。

事業(yè)發(fā)達(dá) "May your career take off."

Take off: (飛機)起飛,(經(jīng)濟(jì)等)迅速發(fā)展

生意興隆 "May your business flourish."

Flourish: 興旺，繁榮

學(xué)業(yè)進(jìn)步 "May your studies improve."

步步高升 "May every step take you higher."

新年進(jìn)步 "May the New Year bring better things."

笑口常開 "May you smile often."

身體健康 "Wishing you good health in the new year"

合家安康 "May the New Year bring prosperity, health and wealth for your whole family."
