The temples of the Most High would be the scenes of his triumph.

最高的圣殿是見(jiàn)證他的勝利的場(chǎng)所。

Homage and gratitude to him, would be anthems of praise and thanksgiving to God.

對(duì)他的敬意和感激，將是對(duì)上帝的贊美詩(shī)和感恩。

 

Parents would honor him as more than a brother; children would reverence him as more than a father.

為人父母?jìng)儗?duì)他不只是像兄弟那樣酬之以榮。孩子們對(duì)他的尊敬也不只是像對(duì)父親那樣。

The faltering words of age, the firm and sober voice of manhood, the silvery notes of youth, would bless him as a Christian patron.

老年人那些支支吾吾的話語(yǔ)，成年人堅(jiān)定而冷靜的聲音，年輕人的銀鈴般的聲音，都祝福他為基督教守護(hù)神。

The wise and the good would acknowledge him everywhere as a national benefactor, as a patriot even to a land of strangers.

明智和善良的人在任何地方都會(huì)認(rèn)為他是國(guó)家的恩人、愛(ài)國(guó)者，甚至在陌生人的土地上亦是如此。

He would have come a messenger of peace to a land of peace.

對(duì)和平的土地而言，他就是和平的使者。

No images of camps, and sieges, and battles; no agonies of the dying and the wounded;

沒(méi)有露營(yíng)，圍困和戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)場(chǎng)面;沒(méi)有奄奄一息和受傷的痛苦;

no shouts of victory, or processions of triumph, would mingle with the recollections of the multitude who welcomed him.

沒(méi)有什么勝利后的歡呼或勝利后的游行，能夠混合歡迎他的許多人的回憶。
