Most children like to eat sweet and tend to drink sugary drinks. However, you absolutely must not be easy to follow the interests of the children, here are 4 drinks to avoid for children, some are especially dangerous.

1. Soda and sweet drink

Soda as well as other sweet drinks are best not recommended for children. A cup of soft drink about 354ml contains 39 grams of sugar or nearly 10 teaspoons of sugar.

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that a daily intake of just under 6 teaspoons (25 grams) of sugar for 2-year-old children.

Sweetened drinks are associated with an increased risk of diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in children. Also, drinking too many sweet drinks can contribute to weight gain and tooth decay in children.

2. Juice

Although 100% fruit juice provides important vitamins and minerals, it should be restricted for children to use.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that children aged 1-6 should only drink fruit juice in the range of 120–180 ml per day, children aged 7-18 should be limited to about 236-355 ml per day.

Because fruit juices lack fiber, children easily drink too much. Therefore, it is best for children to eat fruit instead of water. The AAP recommends that fruit juice be completely restricted in children under one year of age.

3. Beverages containing caffeine

Many children who drink caffeinated drinks - such as soda, coffee and energy drinks - can have health effects.

One study reported that about 75% of American children ages 6 to 19 consume caffeine. In which 2-11 year old children consume an average of 25mg per day, 12-17 year old children consume twice the amount.
