get the picture ： to understand the whole situation  對什么有全部的了解

e.g. <1>After meeting his parents, Julie got the picture about her boyfriend.

             在Julie和他的父母談完了之后，她對自己的男朋友是什么樣的人就有了了解。

       <2>Once the managers explained all the aspects of the project, I got the picture and understood my role much better.

             在這些經理向我們介紹了這個項目方方面面之后，我就有一個大概的了解，并且更加明白我應該干什么，我的角色是什么。

經典對白:

1. 劇中：He knew what he was doing.
know what somebody is doing / know what you are doing ：you have a lot of experience or a particular plan  很有經驗，做什么事情心中有數

       <2>The prodigal son claimed his birthright early and left home.

              那個浪子提前把他的遺產要走了，然后離開了家。

              (claim the birthright 要走了財產)
