I‘ll play it by ear. 用耳朵演奏嗎?這是它的原意。是說(shuō)有些技藝很高超的人，他們演奏時(shí)不看樂(lè)譜，只要憑自己的記憶就可以了。這里引申為見(jiàn)機(jī)行事。比如在公司的會(huì)上，你沒(méi)有絲毫準(zhǔn)備就被邀請(qǐng)講話，你就只好坦言：“I‘ve no time to prepare for the meeting, so I’ll play it by ear.”(我沒(méi)有事前準(zhǔn)備，只好有什么說(shuō)什么了。)

閑話少說(shuō)，接下來(lái)揭曉今天的謎底。I will not break my word. 到底是什么意思呢?別急，word在這里指我們所說(shuō)的“話”。break呢，原意是打破打碎，這里可不是說(shuō)我說(shuō)話結(jié)結(jié)巴巴的。break one’s word 的意思是食言。所以今天的謎底就是我不會(huì)再食言了 。
