break out in a cold sweat直譯過來就是“在冷汗中爆發(fā)了”，這個短語的真正意思是：“(因為焦急、生病、害怕等)冒冷汗”。因此當美國人說"Look! You're breaking out ina cold sweat!"時，他要表達的意思就是: "You areshaking in your shoes!"、"You are so scared!"、"Youare so nervous!"。
