暗含否定句的翻譯（2）

II.疑問句在特定的環(huán)境和語調(diào)下，問句具有與其形式相反的含義，即肯定中暗含否定含義。所以翻譯時一定要考慮語境和語調(diào)，表達出英語的否定意義。

如：What is the use of it?這有什么用?(這沒有一點用)

Who knows?誰知道呢?(沒人知道)

Is the man of fool?難道這人是傻瓜嗎?(他根本不傻)

Am I your slave? 我是你的奴才嗎?(我不是奴才，別使喚我)

III.比較級-er+than…和more +原級+than…將不同性質(zhì)的形容詞或副詞加以比較時，有"不如……""毋寧……"的否定意義。

He is braver than wise.他有勇無謀。

He is more dead than alive.與其說他活著，不如說他死了。

She certainly knows better than to tackle such a problem by herself.

她很明白不能獨自去解決這個問題。

He is wiser than to risk his money in that undertaking.

他不會蠢到投資那項事業(yè)的地步。

He is more of a politician than a scholar. 與其說他是個學者，不如說他是個政客。

You'd better go home than stay here.你呆在這里還不如回家去呢。
